The inspiration of the lamp comes from the water towers, the giant water tanks that are a symbol of the landscape of the Tribeca district in New York City. The shade of the lamp is made of a particular printed fabric that imitates the effect of metal rusted by time. Born from the passion of the Diesel team it changes with light: when the lamp is off it is a metallic totem with a great presence, while when on it lights up becoming warm and evocative and changing the perception of the diffuser. The diffuser is supported by a three-legged structure made of rods that complete the industrial effect; Tank is ideal both in home and commercial spaces, even in very large environments to define any place with Diesel style. Launched in 2018.

In 2009, Foscarini signed a partnership agreement with Diesel as part of the "Home Collection" home furnishings and lifestyle project. This partnership has given Foscarini the opportunity to make contact with a new target clientele and explore new lifestyles and furnishing trends through a collection conceived by Diesel for its own target group: "Diesel Living with Foscarini".
The Diesel Living with Foscarini collection speaks a range of different languages - from rock to pop, industrial to vintage, graphics to art - to illustrate the unmistakable Diesel lifestyle.
Ironic, transgressive, eclectic, incandescent, the collection is made up of over 40 different lamp models. The collection is structured into a range of forms, materials and intended uses, lending itself to unexpected and unconventional settings, from domestic to public environments, always with a strong personality. The materials selected and researched for Foscarini, and perhaps even more so in the Diesel Living with Foscarini collection, are of the utmost importance. Materials which have never before been used in the lighting industry are the collection’s added value.

Its founders and still current owners, who come from an architectural background rather than the business field, have oriented BD’s production from the very start by cultivating beauty, in some cases above their function. Accompanied with artisanal processes instead of mass production, the new products always have more proximity to art than industrial design. Characterised by superior quality, short-series productions (and on occasion limited editions), and unique pieces due to crafted manufacturing. In the 80’s, BD pleasantly surprised by editing Gaudí’s furniture for his famous buildings and in the early 90’s, BD again astounded by introducing an exclusive first collection of furniture and lamps designed by Dalí. Recently the Collections and Designers with an accentuated artistic profile like Jaime Hayon and Doshi Levien, continue to point the way where design and art meet together.
