“We have been working with BD Barcelona Design’s Art Director, Ramón Úbeda for the past two years. We have discussed ideas which have matured with the final result being this piece, inspired in an aquarium. We love creating hybrids using distinct materials, one warm and the other cold. This has become part of our language when designing. Playing with the idea of different weights, with the light aspect of glass and solid wood. The immateriality of the first and the physical presence of the second. The Cabinet is made of ash wood or stained pine, and coloured glass. The internal shelves are also made of glass to conserve the materials transparency and serving to let light pass through. It’s available in two distinct colours”. - FERNANDO AND HUMBERTO CAMPANA Launched in 2016.

Since 1983, the brothers Fernando (born 1961) and Humberto (born 1953) Campana have been solidly building their career, achieving both national and international recognition. Their work incorporates the idea of transformation and reinvention. Giving preciousness to poor, day-to-day or common materials carries not only the creativity in their design but also very Brazilian characteristics - the colors, the mixtures, the creative chaos, the triumph of simple solutions. Based in Sao Paulo, Estudio Campana is constantly investigating new possibilities in furniture making. It creates bridges and dialogues where the exchange of information is also a source of inspiration. Working in partnership with communities, factories and industries keeps the Estudio Campan repertoire fresh.

Since its origins in the 1970’s, BD has always been an atypical company. Its founders and still current owners, who come from an architectural background rather than the business field, have oriented BD’s production from the very start by cultivating beauty, in some cases above their function. Accompanied with artisanal processes instead of mass production, the new products always have more proximity to art than industrial design. Characterised by superior quality, short-series productions (and on occasion limited editions), and unique pieces due to crafted manufacturing. In the 80’s, BD pleasantly surprised by editing Gaudí’s furniture for his famous buildings and in the early 90’s, BD again astounded by introducing an exclusive first collection of furniture and lamps designed by Dalí. Recently the Collections and Designers with an accentuated artistic profile like Jaime Hayon and Doshi Levien, continue to point the way where design and art meet together.
