Born from a union between the centuries-old blown glass tradition and the industrial appeal of metal, there is
something of the alchemist’s still or a lantern in a Gothic novel about Metal Glass.
It is as magical in its shape as it is in its lighting effect with a dense and almost opaque transparency achieved
by provoking a chemical reaction in its still-incandescent vitreous paste. This creates a myriad of bubbles, called
“puleghe” in Venetian dialect, which is the origin of this quasi-magical material's name, “vetro pulegoso”. When
the lamp is switched on these “puleghe” are transformed into luminous particles which contrast with a white
light shining inside its central cylinder.
Metal Glass is available in four vintage-inspired colours and two versions, suspension or table.
