Wickerwork is a marvellous form of art, and an artisanal technique which is the same the world over. One can even say that wickerwork represents the first universal language of humankind: a language of hands. That is why we investigate wicker and the weaving of natural materials in our design studio.
Tina & Pepe are the result of our collaboration with industry. With a design that features both innovation and tradition, it is built with the painstaking care and attention to detail characteristic of artisanal methods coupled with the precision and quality that comes with technology. Tina & Pepe are surprisingly lightweight and organic in form; its comfortable and natural weave is the result of our careful analysis of the qualities and characteristics of its raw materials.
Benedetta Tagliabue studied at the Istituto Universitario de Architettura di Venecia (IUAV), completing her studies in New York. In 1989 she moved to Barcelona, where she resides today. In 1991, she joined forces with Enric Miralles and founded Miralles Tagliabue EMBT, a studio which has designed projects in China, Germany, England, The Netherlands, and many other countries. Their work has received numerous accolades.
Expormim, based in Valencia Spain, is a company with great tradition in the production of furniture. With more than 50 years of experience, the company has consolidated in the market thanks to the ongoing process of modernization with special emphasis on the improved manufacturing processes, the selection of raw materials and a careful design of their products. Currently, EXPORMIM is present in more than 40 countries around the world. Over time, Expormim, constantly at the forefront, developed various product lines, adapting well to the tastes and trends of the markets, covering fully the needs of both homes (indoor) and gardens (outdoor) as well as the major hospitality facilities.
