Redesigned in 2012, the height-adjustable table Lem dates back to thirty years ago, but it continues to be a great success thanks to its versatility, which makes it ideal for a range of uses and cultural requirements. Lem has a chromed or epoxy painted steel frame that combines a sense of rigour with a certain sophisticated elegance, and an HPL top which can be set at the desired height using the adjustment mechanism that transforms it instantly from low table to dining table or anything in-between. Year: 1985/2012.

Andries Van Onck (born in 1928 in Amsterdam) studied Industrial Design in the Netherlands before attending the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Ulm. Hiroko Takeda (born in 1945) graduated from the Tokyo Academy. She has lived and worked in Italy since 1972, with Andries Van Onck. In 1965 Andries founded his own design studio in Milan (now in Gavirate near Varese) where, with his wife Hiroko Takeda, he has developed numerous design projects for companies in Italy and abroad, and received many awards for them.

Magis was established in 1976 in the north east of Italy, one of Europe's most dynamic industrial areas. Its success is based on the desire to provide a broad swathe of users with access to high functional and technological quality products for the home, developed in partnership with major international designers, with a vision of the resulting products that is ethical and poetic as well as aesthetic.

Magis products are dedicated to their international public and are all 100% “Made in Italy”: a guarantee of high quality, in line with the firm's tradition, which has developed from its craftsmanship and cultural roots, through the evolving styles and industrial growth of the eighties and nineties, and continues to comprise one of the company's greatest and most valuable assets.
