Details

The Stewie lamp is a sensation on the domestic scene, a surprising and appealing character, which is both warm, relaxing and friendly, starting with the light it sheds. indeed, the beam of light is cast downwards, creating a particular atmosphere within the room, which is irresistible and appealing, almost a contemporary hearth. The light from within is not just cast forwards, but also behind the volume of the lamp. Stewie has a soft yet dynamic body, which is large yet light-weight, just like the material used to make it: thermoformed polyethylene covered with a prismatic fabric, which is similar to that used for the production of trunks, backpacks, spectacle cases and motorcycling helmets. This solution makes it possible to create a large concavity, which is attractive and at the same time ideal to reflect light within it, with a pleasant soft lighting effect. Devised to move its pleasantly scenic presence from room to room, Stewie is ideal for the most disparate uses, with its unmistakable shape: a luminous and graphic mark that creates an atmosphere of convivial intimacy and puts everyone at ease: placed beside a sofa or an armchair, in the living room or in the bedroom, or even in communal areas inspired by a living- room concept.

Foscarini focuses on developing new products but chooses only to put into production those that express new ideas. While inspiration is always valued, Foscarini’s development phase sometimes takes years of progressive research to analyze materials, shapes, processes and operating modes that sometimes lead to results drastically different from the initial concept.

This is why Foscarini lamps are so innovative yet built to weather the whim of trends and become true classics.
